Creating your connection (Important: Keep your Account Information sheet in a safe spot! You may need it at a later date.)

Before Starting:
If you are on any kind of a Network, see your Network Administrator.

This setup assumes you have both Internet browser and mail client programs. If you do not, you will have to obtain them.
  • In 'My Computer', double click 'Dial-up Networking'.
  • If you have run 'Dial-up Networking' before, click 'New' to create a new phonebook entry. If this is the first time you have run DUN, you will receive the following message: "The phonebook is empty. Press OK to add an entry". Click OK.
  • Under 'Name the new phonebook entry', type: Wyoming.com, and then click 'Next'.
  • On the next screen, make sure the first two check boxes are selected ("I am calling the Internet" and "Send my plain text password..."). Do not select the third check box. Click 'Next'.
  • Under 'Phone number', type in your local access number for Wyoming.com. Click 'Next', then click 'Finish'
  • Click OK, and then click 'Dial' to connect to Wyoming.com.
  • In the dial-up window, type your User ID and password, clear the 'Domain' box, and then click OK.

Set Up Outlook Express
Note: this is generic setup for Outlook Express. If you need specific version instructions, please visit Outlook Express

  • At the computer desktop, double-click on the Outlook Express icon.
  • Click on "Tools"
  • Click on "Accounts"
  • Click on the "Mail" tab at the top of the window.
  • Click on "Add"
  • Click on "Mail"

Your Name

  • Display name: Enter your name, (for example, John Doe)
  • Click on "Next"

Internet E-mail address

  • E-mail addresses:userid@Wyoming.com (Please replace the word "userid" with the User ID provided to you.)
  • Click on "Next"

E-mail Server Names

  • My incoming mail server: POP3
  • Incoming mail(POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.Wyoming.com
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.Wyoming.com
  • Click on "Next"

Internet Mail Logon

  • Select "Log on using:"
  • POP account name: Please enter the User ID provided to you.
  • Password: Please enter the password provided to you. Click on "Next" .

Friendly Name
Internet mail account name: You may name your Internet mail account anything you want.

  • Click on "Next"
  • Click on "Finish"

Connecting to the Internet

  • Double click on the Internet Explorer icon (the big blue E).

Disconnecting from the Internet

  • Right-mouse click on the connection icon in your systray. The systray is normally located in the lower right hand corner of your screen next to the time clock. The connection icon looks like two computers with green lights, wired together.
  • Click on "hangup".
