Determine which version of Netscape Mail you are using.

  • Open Netscape (You may see the version number as it opens.)
  • Click on Help.
  • Click on About Communicator. Make a note of your version.

Netscape 2 to 3

  • Start Communicator
  • Select Options
  • Left-mouse click on Mail and News Preferences
  • Click on Servers and enter the following information:
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.wyoming.com
    • Incoming Mail (POP) Server: mail.wyoming.com
    • Pop User Name: Enter the Userid assigned to you and listed on your Wyoming.com account information sheet.
  • Select Identity and enter the following information:
    • Your Name: Your name, nickname, or business name
    • Your Email: userid@Wyoming.com (make sure to replace "userid" with your unique userid assigned to you)

  • Click Apply then OK.

Netscape 4.05

  • Start Communicator
  • Click Edit
  • Select Preferences
  • Click the "+" symbol in front of Mail & Groups
  • Click on Identity and enter the following information:
    • Your Name: your name, nickname or business name
    • Email Address: userid@Wyoming.com (Make sure to replace "userid" with your userid assigned to you).
  • Select Mail Server and enter the following information:
    • Mail server username: the userid from the userid@Wyoming.com account information sheet.
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.wyoming.com
    • Incoming mail server: mail.wyoming.com
    • Mail Server Type: POP3
  • Click OK

Netscape 4.5-4.7

  • Start Communicator
  • Go to the Menu bar and select Edit
  • Select Preferences
  • Click the "+" symbol in front of Mail & Groups
  • Click on Identity and enter the following information:
    • Your Name: your name, nickname or business name
    • Email Address: userid@Wyoming.com (Make sure to replace "userid" with your userid assigned to you).
  • Click on Mail Server
    • If there is not an Incoming Mail server listed click "Add"
      • Enter the following information:
      • Server Name: mail.wyoming.com
      • Server Type: POP3
      • User Name: Enter your userid from the Wyoming.com account information sheet.
      • Click OK
    • If there is an Incoming Mail server listed that you are not using, highlight it and click Edit
      • Delete any old information and enter the following Wyoming.com information
      • Server Name: mail.wyoming.com
      • Server Type: POP3
      • User Name: Your userid from the Wyoming.com account information sheet.
    • Click OK
  • Outgoing Mail Server
    • Enter the following information
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:mail.wyoming.com
    • Outgoing mail server username: Your userid from the Wyoming.com account information sheet.
    • Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL): Select "Never"
  • Click OK

Netscape 6.x

    Open Netscape.
  • Go to the Menu bar, select Tasks, then select Mail.
  • On the new window, click on Edit, Mail/News Accounts Settings. Click on New Account.
    • New Account Setup
    • Select ISP or email provider.
    • Your Name: Type in your name the way you would like it to appear in the From field. Email Address: Type in your Wyoming.com email address (for example: johndoe@Wyoming.com) Click on Next.
    • Server Type: Make sure POP Mail Server is selected. Server Name: Type in mail.wyoming.com Click on Next.
    • User Name: Type in the userid for your account. Click on Next.
    • Account Name: Enter a descriptive name for this account, e.g. Mom's mail.
    • Click on Finish.

    When sending an email, verify you are using the correct email address by looking at the From field. If the incorrect account is listed, click on the down arrow to the right, select the appropriate account. Inbound and outbound messages from both account will be mixed together in the Inbox and Sent folders. However, you may create separate folders and then setup message filters to sort the mail accordingly.
